Default Blocked Fallopian Tube

This is going to be kind of long so I hope you can bear with me. It may also be TMI so sorry if it is.

I have been having this severe pain in my lower left pelvis (the fallopian tube/ovary area). I have had this for about 3 years. It wasn't too bad a first but then I got pregnant, had my dd and it went away. Just recently it came back twice as bad. I thought that maybe it could be an ovarian cyst but I don't think so because my first ultrasound when I was pregnant, they checked my ovaries and so forth. Nothing was there. Also everytime bmy husband and I have sex, it is almost a dibilitating excruciating pain.

Last night after we did, I could almost not breath, then it occurred to me that I was supposed to ovulate between Thursday-Saturday sometime. This got me thinking that maybe a tube or something is blocked. They pain is there when I stretch or something like that but it is excruciating at the time that I am supposed to ovulate. After putting 2 and 2 together, this may be what it is.

The reason I am posting is to see if anyone has had this condition before and if you have, what symptoms you had. I can't go to the doctor right now because I don't have insurance. Any comments would be appreicated!

Obviously we can't diagnose you online, so the only way to know for sure is to go to the doc. Most doctors will work with you on payment plans; they understand most of us can't afford a lot of things without insurance.

I suppose it's possible you could have a blocked fallopian tube, although from what (little) I know about blocked tubes, they're usually caused by pelvic inflammatory disease, which could also cause pain. But there are all sorts of conditions that can cause pelvic pain...endometriosis, ovarian cysts, or ovulation pain. Cysts come and go. They grow and burst and get reabsorbed throughout your cycle, so if you didn't have one a year ago, it doesn't mean you don't have one now.

But honestly, what you're describing sounds to me like it could easily be regular old ovulation pain. The follicles on your ovaries are swelling & growing big enough until they're ready to burst and release an egg. You can certainly feel pain when they're swollen like that, and also when the egg is actually released.

I get it and it's just ovulation pain, for me. It's usually not excruciating but if I stretch too far it can get that way. I can see sex causing the same problem.

If it is pressure related (putting pressure on the area, stretching, etc... and specifically around O time) it could be hyperstimulation. A blood test early in your cycle could probably tell if your estrogen levels would point to it.

I have a history with ovarian cysts, and I have pretty bad pain on my right side during ovulation times, and a few days before my period. Like Jana said, they burst, come and go, etc. I had a large one that required surgery during my first pregnancy, and I had one rupture prior to my second pregnancy. If you are in that much pain, I would see a doc asap and see what they can work out with you as far as insurance. Good luck!

I get sometimes debilitating pain during sex if I am around what should be my ovulation time (I am ont he pill so not sur eI still ovulate, but I still have the pain!). If it is affecting your breathign especially, you may want to go straight to the ER... they would be able to check things fairly efficiently, as far as note your levels right then... may help at least start to get to the bottom of things... and the cannot turn you away due to no insurance...
