I like this thread! It's interesting.
I always wanted to be the cool mom who liked her kids' music (my mom did, and we thought she was so cool). My kids are too little still, but if today's pop is anything like what they'll end up listening to, I won't get to be that. So, not today's pop, and I don't like rap, hip-hop, or hard rock. Other than that, I listen to pretty much anything else. My favorites are: Country - beginning in the late 90's (I used to hate all country until a friend of mine turned me on to it.) Oldies - especially the 50's and 60's (I'm streaming the AOL Radio oldies station right now.) Christian Latin - pop, tropical, not as much tejano I have two song memories. Ace of Base's "I Saw the Sign" which we heard everywhere when I was in Mexico on spring break my senior year in high school. That always makes me feel young, footloose, fancy free...and pretty stupid. LOL The second one is "We Built This City on Rock and Roll". On a family vacation in San Francisco, they played this for a laser light show on Pier 39. My brother and I went to that by ourselves one night, and it was a really cool bonding experience. That always makes me wish we were closer now. ETA: I absolutely DESPISE the Beach Boys. I was reminded of that because they just came on AOL Radio, and I closed the station. I simply can't stand them. Last edited by Margarita; 01-30-2010 at 06:29 PM. |
