Well the "party" prtion is over & we are on to the sleepover portion. We lost 1 girl around 8:15 because some of the other girls were pretending to be monsters & got her all scared. We sent extra candy home in her goodie bag & told her not to worry about it. Then my sister explained to her that there were no mosters in the house because they are all afraid of me (it's always worked on my kids). Nicholas explained that the monsters stay away because I snore & hubby farts.

Kissed my 7 year old good night. She said she can't wait to get the booster seat out of the truck tomorrow. I told her it would have to wait until the evening (I know we won't have time in the morning). We'll be having dinner at our usual Tuesday place & she's excited about that because they do a call out to birthday guests & many of the servers & hostesses there know us.

Wow, she's old enough for just a seat belt, already? I still feel like she's about 3 years old. I hope she has a fabulous birthday!

Aww, that's great! So was the party a success? I can't wait to see how the cake you made turned out. Please post pics when you can!

Thanks C, she really did have a good time. Here are a few shots of the cake. Monkey & her best friend decorated the top layer (I filled in their design with a bit more frosting) as a pizza.

I just made reservations for our family vacation this year. We are going to spend some time in and around Mackinaw City. We are going to spend a couple days at the state campground just over the Mackinaw Bridge in the upper Penninsula (the campground is actually ON the strait with a view of the bridge, which really excites me). Then we are going to spend a couple more days back on the lower side of the bridge at a KOA campground. On the "second leg" we will have time to actually go to Mackinaw Island. I've bookmarked a few things/places I want to take the kids to check out while we're there but for the most part we are just going to play it free and loose.

It shouldn't be a majorly expensive vacation either. Since we are staying in our camper at the campground our lodging will be about $40 a night. Plus we'll have the benefit of all the food we pack in the camper. I envision our major expenses being gas & souveniers. I just love sharing these experiences with the kids (and judging by last year's trip they enjoy it too).

sounds like fun! Tommy has been talking about taking the kids up there.....and since I have never been up there we just might venture up there sometime.
