Default Spanish lessons?

Brenden has started learning Spanish this year in 7th grade. He is pretty good but I am wondering if anyone knew of some books or websites that may be fun as well as educational?

I don't know of anything decent for older kids. All of the resources I have are little nursery rhymes and songs for much younger kids; however, even through high school and college I learned a lot of foreign language through children's books and music. It's simple language for them, so it's simple for second-language-learners, too. I can share the Spanish cds & songbooks I have for my kids, if you are interested.

Actually, probably any Spanish music would be cool, too, especially if you can get an English translation of the lyrics for him. There were certain songs that would always get stuck in my head as I was writing or taking a test because they would help me remember various grammatical constructs.

That would be great. I think learning the basics makes it easier

I'd say check out the Jose-Luis Orozco songbooks (Diez Deditos, De Colores) with their cds. Some of the songs are familiar (Wheels on the Bus, Itsy Bitsy Spider), but most of them are traditional Latin American folk songs and fingerplays. I just flipped through the 3 books I have, and Pio Peep is definitely short little nursery rhymes, while the Orozco ones are songs.
